Product Detail

L-lactide is a specific configuration of lactide, which is a cyclic dimer formed by the dehydration of two molecules of L-lactic acid.

Its appearance is a white crystalline solid. The melting point is 90~100 °C, and its specific rotation is -285° to -300°. Since it is highly moisture-sensitive and easy to deliquesce, strictly sealed storage is required.

It is widely used as a premium monomer to synthesize high-performance Poly(L-lactic acid) (PLLA) and other biomedical copolymers.
