mPEG-PLLA Copolymer

Short Description:

mPEG-PLLA is an amphiphilic block copolymer composed of hydrophilic methoxy polyethylene glycol (mPEG) and hydrophobic biodegradable poly(L-lactic acid) (PLLA) linked through chemical bonds. The material combines the excellent hydrophilicity and biocompatibility of mPEG with the high crystallinity, excellent mechanical strength, and moderate degradation characteristics of PLLA.

Product Detail

●mPEG-PLLA Product Description

As a homopolymer of L-lactic acid, PLLA has relatively high crystallinity and glass transition temperature, providing good mechanical strength and thermal stability. Its degradation period is typically several months to approximately two years, and its degradation product is lactic acid, a naturally occurring metabolite in the human body.

By adjusting the block ratio and molecular weight of mPEG and PLLA, the hydrophilic/hydrophobic balance, self-assembly morphology, and degradation behavior of the copolymer can be precisely controlled.

mPEG-PLLA has good biocompatibility and excellent design flexibility, with broad applications in long-acting drug delivery microspheres, postoperative anti-adhesion membranes, high-strength tissue engineering scaffolds, and aesthetic medicine applications such as facial filling and contouring.

The molecular weight distribution of the product is ≤2.0. Customized molecular weights and viscosities are available according to customer requirements.
